8-Day Morocco Desert Tour with Camel Trekking: Explore the Sahara and Majestic Dunes

After breakfast, we depart for Skoura and Ouarzazate, where we’ll visit the impressive Amridil Kasbah, one of the highlights of the famous Route of the Thousand Kasbahs in southern Morocco. Continue your journey through the scenic Valley of Roses, a picturesque region known for its rose gardens and local production of rose water. As we travel 50 kilometers through the valley, we’ll pass the Ait Youl Kasbah, a striking fortress that offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Next, we head towards Boulemane before stopping for lunch at the stunning Dades Gorges, offering panoramic views of the rugged terrain. After lunch, we make our way to Tinghir, a town known for its breathtaking landscapes and close proximity to the Todra Canyons, where towering cliffs rise dramatically above the valley floor. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in a hotel, reflecting on a day filled with natural beauty and rich Moroccan culture.

In the morning, we’ll begin our day with a peaceful walk through the Tinghir palm plantations, a lush oasis offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Afterward, we’ll continue to Tinjdad for lunch and visit the charming Touroug Palm Plantations, known for their beautiful date palms. From there, we head towards Erfoud, where we’ll explore a local fossil craft workshop, showcasing Morocco’s rich prehistoric history. Next, we journey towards the majestic Erg Chebbi Dunes near Merzouga, famous for their towering sand dunes. Upon arrival, we’ll swap our vehicle for camels, embarking on a camel ride to witness the stunning sunset over the dunes. This unforgettable experience will lead us to a traditional nomad camp, where we’ll spend the night under the stars, enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner in the heart of the Sahara.

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, followed by a return camel ride back to the base of the dunes. After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we’ll head to the village of Khamlia, known as the "village of Gnaoua," where you’ll experience the soulful music of the Gnaoua people, traditionally performed in the desert. A stop at a local Gnaoua home will offer you a chance to enjoy a refreshing mint tea while learning about their culture and music. Next, we continue our journey to Taouz, followed by a scenic drive along the Ziz River through the famous Paris-Dakar Rally route, with its desert tracks and dramatic landscapes. We’ll pass through the small, remote village of Ouzina before stopping for a traditional lunch. Our journey continues towards Ramlia, where we cross the Rheris River, a vast sandy expanse, and follow mountain tracks to M’harch. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night at a hotel, reflecting on a day filled with stunning desert vistas and unique cultural encounters.

After breakfast, we depart for Tamegroute, a historic town known for its Zaouia (a religious school), the ancient Koranic library, and traditional pottery workshops where artisans continue to craft beautiful ceramics. We will also explore an underground Kasbah, an intriguing example of traditional architecture designed to withstand the desert heat. Next, we continue our journey to M'hamid, where we’ll stop for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, we take an off-road track leading to the Chegaga Dunes, one of the most stunning and remote desert landscapes in Morocco. Here, we’ll witness a breathtaking sunset over the dunes, before heading to a traditional bivouac (desert camp) where we will spend the night. Enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars, immersing yourself in the tranquility of the Sahara.

After breakfast, we’ll begin our day with a visit to Ouarzazate, also known as the "Hollywood of Morocco." Here, you’ll explore the historic Kasbah of Taourirt, a stunning example of traditional Moroccan architecture, and take a tour of the famous movie studios, where many iconic films and TV shows have been filmed. Following the visit, we’ll continue our journey to Marrakech, driving through the scenic Tizi N-Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. This picturesque route brings us to the end of our journey, completing the tour in the vibrant city of Marrakech.
